Early this year, I was pleased to be appointed to seek Planning and Building Regulations Permissions for Abraham’s Jewellers in Yate. Abraham’s is a family- owned and run business, founded in 1945. They’ve been in Yate town centre for many years, on North Walk. Yate Shopping Centre has had a lot of investment and development in recent years and whilst it remains a bustling and lively town centre, the focus is very much on the East Walk and central square. When a vacant unit became available right in the centre, Abraham’s took the opportunity to make the move and re-position themselves in a very prominent location.
I sought Planning Permission for a new shop frontage, and, as new advertisement signage was required, a separate permission for that was also gained. A successful Building Regulation application completed the package of work. Â Abraham’s completed the move recently and the unit looks re-vitalised, bright and attractive, an empty shop unit is full again, and Abraham’s jewellers is in a prime position for another 70 years of trading.
