Two storey side extension, South Glos

This project was to build a two storey extension in Alveston, South Gloucestershire. The design replaced a somewhat decrepit detached garage on the site, and created a larger kitchen and WC on the ground floor, with a garage to the front, and a master bedroom and en suite upstairs. The layout works really well, creates a well proportioned bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a more secure garage downstairs. The kitchen has doubled in size, and with frequent visits from grandchildren and elderly parents, a ground floor WC is always useful! The benefit of building to the side is that the no useful garden space is removed, and none of the original windows were obscured by the new extension.
