The owners of this house in Bradley Stoke wanted to extend their existing bedroom spaces, but opportunity was tight because of the number of existing constraints. As there was an existing conservatory to the rear, along with a sloping rear garden, and drainage limitations, a side extension was required. The area was relatively narrow- too narrow to create an entirely separate room, so the option to extend an existing bedroom was pursued. The existing single garage was set back substantially from the house, so we designed a new two storey extension which created additional garage space on the ground floor, while leaving enough driveway parking to satisfy the planning department. The existing third bedroom was extended out over this new space, and a new steel beam incorporated to create a larger bedroom space, with a generous en suite to the front.
