This single storey extension replaced an existing coal shed and outside WC, and an ageing overhanging roof structure, and involved removing the wall between the original, small, kitchen and dining rooms, to create one larger open plan kitchen and dining space.

The bifold doors and large flat roof window flood the room with light, and the owners have installed a beautiful herringbone timber floor, modern kitchen, and also created a seating space. A small utility and ground floor WC complete the development, and turn a tired and old fashioned 1930’s layout into a bright and open space for a modern family.
ACHD worked with the owners to design the extension, and sought planning and building control approvals.
