Single Storey extension

Working for previous customers, now relocated to a larger property, this tired 1980’s detached house needed an update! With a dated layout, the rear of the property was divided into a kitchen, dining room and conservatory. The owners wanted to create an open plan layout, providing a more usable kitchen/diner area, with an adjoining playroom.

The kitchen & dining space is now a fantastic, practical and light area. A large island housing a slick hob unit faces out into the room, making cooking a social activity and the slab matt navy kitchen units look beautiful and modern.  Large bifold doors lead out onto a patio space, which will provide a lovely indoor outdoor area (once the weather improves!). The adjoining playroom provides space for the owner’s two children to store and play with their toys, in close proximity to the hub of family life.

In addition, the rear of the garage was converted into a very practical utility space, and the existing overhanging roof to the front of the property was infilled to regain some of the converted garage space, and to provide additional space in the entrance hallway. The owners thoroughly renovated the rest of the property, modernising the staircase handrail and balustrading, ground floor WC, front drive and rear patio and decoration throughout. Using continuous flooring throughout the kitchen/diner, hallway and utility adds to the sense of space and the white painted finish is clean, light and easy to maintain.
