Lantern roofed extension

The owners of this house in Bradley Stoke were clear about their brief- they wanted to create a new open plan kitchen, dining, entertaining space. They love having friends and family to their home and wanted to replace the dated and confined layout into one big space which made the most of their already installed modern, sleek kitchen and the outlook into their large garden. The house was built with a small dining room adjoining the kitchen and previous owners had added a conservatory, resulting in three rooms, which lacked flexibility.

We designed a garden room style extension to replace the conservatory, and designed openings to bring together three spaces into one. Bi folding doors to the garden and a large lantern roof flood the space with light and sense of connection to the exterior.

The owners continued the white gloss ceramic tiled floor from the kitchen into the new spaces, and installed amazing LED lighting in the lantern which makes it a real wow factor, day and night!
